Career Center

On behalf of Career Services, I am delighted to welcome you to Wheeling University!

Career Services is part of the Wheeling University Office of Student Services. Our office is located in Center for Educational Technologies (CET) 216 and is open to all students and alumni.

The Career Services office is here to help you identify and explore career options that you might pursue, and implement an effective strategy to attain your desired career outcomes. Students often visit Career Services with questions about career goals, what major is the best fit for them, and getting hands-on experience in their field. I am excited to help you with these big questions, and any others that you may have.

Through personal, 1-on-1 career advising, I hope to help you learn about your skills and interests, and articulate them confidently in resumes, cover letters, interviews, and personal statements. Once you have identified these skills and interests, we can discuss and plan ways for you to put those skills into practice with internships and/or part-time employment to help you maximize your career skills.

Career Services also places emphasis on helping students learn and expand their life skills while still at Wheeling University. These skills can include personal finance, learning about insurance and retirement, effective networking techniques, and professionalism. In today’s dynamic working world, these life skills can often be the difference between “just getting by” and being truly successful both inside and outside of your career.

I sincerely hope that you will take advantage of these services while you are a student at Wheeling University. From these services, you will be able to enhance your educational experience and readiness to move into your career after graduation.
